A Whimsical & Fresh Summer Picnic

Life isn’t a picnic … unless you’re at a picnic! I couldn’t help myself but plan the perfect summer picnic outfit when my friend suggested a whimsical outdoor date!

Ever since I was a little girl, I loved picnics. It was such fun to pack up all the sandwiches, fruit, and drinks, and head to a pretty park to enjoy the weather and the treats. My mom always tried to bring along some sort of dessert – like cookies or brownies. Now that I’ve gotten older, I don’t often get to go on a picnic with my family, but my fiancé and I sometimes pack dinner and go to a park on a cool evening and it’s wonderful!

I texted my blogger bestie, Stefanie, about a picnic lunch and some fun photos together, and I was thrilled when she excitedly said yes! She brought the picnic blanket, some chicken salad, and melons. I provided the rest of the citrus and berries, and a baguette! I also brought along rosé, but since she’s expecting in August – and I didn’t want to drink alone – we only used it as a prop! I will say the cherries were extra delicious, and the oranges too! We thought there might be rain, but life truly was a picnic and we got to enjoy it together without a summer storm!

Outfit Details
similar top | similar skirt | similar shoes | earrings | similar necklace | similar bag

I had my summer picnic outfit planned for days in advance.

In my previous post, I mentioned my extreme love for these midi circle skirts. They’re so lightweight and comfortable, and this one has pockets (so obviously it’s the best skirt of all time). When I saw this tie-hem crop top, I knew it was the perfect match, and it just screamed “picnic in the park”!

With the 4th of July coming in just a couple of days, I thought this outfit was super festive and fun! Plus, next to the white and blue-checked picnic blanket, it was extra patriotic! Okay, so the skirt and top aren’t exactly red, but they are red-toned, which I think is perfectly fine. This is especially nice if you’re hoping to wear the outfit again after the holiday has passed!

Now tell me – what would you bring to a picnic?

Also – what are your 4th of July plans?
