Some people can’t stand music while they work or read. Some people can’t work or read without music. I fall into the latter category. I absolutely have to have something making noise while I’m working or reading. Usually throughout the day, that means an audiobook to keep me company while I do my work. However, when it comes time for me to curl up with my book, I’m all about an ambience video. These channels have become increasingly popular over the years and I know they bring so many people comfort–including myself!
It seems like every time I post an Instagram story with one of these gorgeous videos playing in the background, I receive a message from someone asking for the link to what I’m watching. While this is something that switches up every now and again, I definitely have my go-to channels on YouTube for cozy ambience. I decided it was high time I shared my very favorites with you! Whether you choose to use these while you’re reading, working, or just winding down for the evening, I highly recommend checking them out for an extra dose of serenity.

The Best Ambience Video Channels to Enjoy While Reading
Calmed by Nature is my top pick when it comes to ambience video channels. You can tell that they spend an incredible amount of time making their absolutely gorgeous animations. Without fail, I will have their channel on in the background while I read during the evening before bed. It’s my go-to channel and the one I recommend the very most!
When it comes to music, it doesn’t get any better than the Cafe Music BGM Channel. They have the most gorgeous live videos that they upload daily and you’ll never hear a single song repeated. Recently, they updated their vibe from looped coffee steam stock videos to really fun animated illustrations.
If you’re looking for especially gorgeous settings with comforting smooth jazz, I highly suggest checking out the Relax Jazz Cafe channel. The scenes are stunning and you’ll be met with the sounds of crackling fireplaces, rain, and light wind in tandem with soft piano music.
A recent discovery for me was Piano Jazz Music which focuses on the music itself, like Cafe BGMC. However, their videos are even more peaceful, taking place in dimly lit animated cafes. I’ve been enjoying this channel a lot during the evenings lately.
Enchanting Ember has a delightful mix of both music-centered videos and ones that focus on more natural sounds. They also have incredibly warm vibes with ethereal fantasy atmospheres. I like to watch these when there’s a particular setting I’m looking for to match my book!

Enchanting Ember is one of my favourites! I also listen to a lot of Star Trek ambience channels. I am a space girlie at heart lol.
