How I Feel About Chicwish After My Last Review

A Totally Updated Review of Chicwish Clothing Retailer by The Espresso Edition cozy book and lifestyle blog

I’ve been shopping at Chicwish since 2017 and while I’ve previously shared my thoughts on the brand, it was high time I gave an update!

In 2019, two years after I received my first items from the online retailer, I shared a full review of Chicwish and talked about how 80% of my closet was filled with their pieces. At the time, I was eyeballs-deep in the fashion blogging world and was constantly finding new brands and trying all the trends. Things have changed a lot since then, but believe it or not, if you were to peek in my closet right now, you’d find that Chicwish is still a major part of my collection! I have a plethora of sweaters, skorts, and dresses from the brand and I constantly gravitate towards them when I’m choosing an outfit for the day.

It meant the world to me when I received an email from my previous contact, telling me that my review article had sent so many shoppers to their website. As someone who only boosts brands that I honestly support and recommend, it’s so fulfilling knowing that my hard work has paid off over time. Chicwish asked if I would take a look at their current website, pick some pieces, and give my updated thoughts. Keep on reading to find out what I think of Chicwish after all these years.

I’m going to touch on some of my previous thoughts about Chicwish and also focus on a few things I noticed recently.

Product Quality

In my 2019 review, I compared the quality of Chicwish items to that of Nordstrom, LOFT, and Express. If I’m being totally honest, I think the quality exceeds some of those, now that I’ve literally owned a few of their items for over five years and worn them more times than I can count. The best way to put it is that you will definitely get a return on your investment. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve felt let down by an item, and it was almost always user error, not due to the manufacturer (like getting a neckline caught on a hanger and tearing it at the seam).

Prices

Speaking of investment, Chicwish is slightly more expensive than “average” (whatever that looks like in the age of inflation). You could spend more than you would at H&M or Target, but as I mentioned above, you’ll be able to wear the items for years to come. I would still consider it to be an affordable retailer. They nearly always have promotions going on and especially around the holidays, you can save a crazy amount when you make a larger order.

Sizing

I still agree fully with what I previously said about the sizing. You should always double and triple-check the sizing charts! I also suggest reading through any reviews, looking at how other buyers styled the item, and trusting your gut. I’ve found that 99% percent of the time, my “normal” size fits just fine. The only challenges I’ve seemed to face are with skirts and dresses that tend to be a wee bit saggy. On the other hand, I’ve had some skirts and dresses that fit like a glove. It depends on material, shape, and sometimes just the day of the week.

Customer Service

I can’t say I’ve had the most incredible experience with customer service, but to be fair, I’ve only had to contact them maybe twice since I began shopping in 2017, which sort of goes to show that they handle things quite well. The “biggest” issue I faced was when trying to find out if a skirt had concealed shorts before I made a purchase (some of them do and some don’t) and the person who was responding just clearly didn’t have the answer I needed and kept trying to give me information that was entirely irrelevant. But again, I’ve rarely had to get in touch, since nearly every other time I made a purchase or received items, things worked out brilliantly.

Selection and Demographic

Personally, I think Chicwish has something for everyone. I mean that quite literally. I’ve recommended their website to countless friends who have vastly different styles. Whether someone is in need of an evening gown, a sweater for holiday photos, mommy-and-me matching outfits, or cute and comfy loungewear, there’s an option that will wow. They also cater to all ages with a mix of trendy pieces and classic styles. Their items lean very feminine and you’ll notice a lot of lace, ruffles, and sparkle, but again, they do have a large range and you can also find more edgy or structured pieces as well.

Shipping and Returns

This fluctuates a lot. For the most part, I’ve found that they ship quickly, normally between 5-7 business days. However, there have been times when a piece has taken up to a month to get to me. I think that’s often when the item has sold out and been restocked, but if you’re unaware that’s the case, you might be waiting a while. I tend to suggest making a purchase with plenty of time prior to any events. Returns are relatively uncomplicated, with options to pay for the shipping and receive a refund to your card or do a free return and get store credit plus an additional $5 bonus. You can also simply exchange the piece for a different size at no extra cost to you.

Ease of Shopping

Shopping on the Chicwish website is a breeze. Their categories are quite detailed and they give you so many options when it comes to narrowing things down as well, by style, size, color, and more. You can also navigate through their new arrivals, bestsellers, and curated shops (often tailored to the holidays) for more inspiration. I’ve never once struggled with finding exactly what I need when searching for a particular kind of item. It makes the shopping experience so pleasant!

I have shopped at Chic Wish for quite a few years now and agree with this assessment. I have a ton of their skirts and tops and I find the clothes really unique and well made. I have been pleased with the customer service.
The only thing is that the shipping can be slow at times. Many times it arrives quite quickly but at others it is a longer wait time, I think to restock as is mentioned here.
I just ordered the cutest pink fuzzy heart sweater for Valentine’s day and a white bow tie sweater for X-Mas.
