15 Books I Plan to Read in March 2022

Sometimes, it can be hard for me to nail down which titles go on my monthly TBR, but this time around, it was a lot of fun! In this post, see which books I plan to read in March 2022.

So, I think I was a little bit over-eager when it came to my TBR in February. My brain wasn’t considering the fact that it was the shortest month of the year + I had just taken on another job + January looked different because we lost power several times and I had nothing to do except reading. However, I still managed to get through most of the fifteen books I originally planned for myself. The only ones that didn’t make the cut were Among the Beasts and Briars (which I’m moving to April so I can buddy-read it) and The Book of Life (because my dumb self decided to wait until the end of the month to pick it up, forgetting how absolutely massive those books are).

That being said, I did add a few books I hadn’t planned on reading! My Libby request for When You Get the Chance finally became available, as well as The Ex Hex, so I listened to those. I also listened to The Wrong Suitcase, which was a novella by one of my favorite authors and it was a super quick read for Valentine’s Day! This evened things out, making it so that I wound up reading eighteen books in total for the month. Now, I’m sharing which titles are going on my March TBR – and I’m hoping I’ll be able to get through them all!

The 15 Books on My March 2022 TBR

You can find each book below. Tap on the photo to read the synopsis and tap on the title to buy or preorder. Visit my StoryGraph account to read my reviews as they go live – and check out my bookstagram account for more aesthetic photos of books and coffee!

The Queen’s Rising (The Queen’s Rising #1) by Rebecca Ross | ebook – This book was picked from the template that asked for 12 friends to recommend 12 books. I had never heard of it before, but several of the author’s other books are on my to-read list, so I figured it would be as good a place as any to start!

Echo North (Echo North #1) by Joanna Ruth Meyer | physical – Is it strange that I’m rereading this two months in a row? Maybe a little bit, but this one is on my March list because I’m hosting a group read for the book! I won’t be flying through it this time around, but taking it slowly throughout the month as I discuss it with all of the other readers. If you’re interested in joining us, let me know!

The Honey Don’t List by Christina Lauren | audiobook – Christina Lauren has been an author duo whose books have been severely hit-or-miss for me. The last one I read by them was The Soulmate Equation, and I loved it! That being said, I’m a little more prepared to dive into another one of their backlist titles to see if it suits my taste. This one sounded like fun (and it was available on Libby).

We Free the Stars (Sands of Arawiya #2) by Hafsah Faizal | ebook – It was so much fun to buddy-read the first book in this duology during February. I knew I needed to get into the sequel as soon as I could because 1) I would forget everything otherwise and 2) I was dying to know what happened next! This series just gave me a new favorite character and I need to find out what becomes of him…

The Book of Life (All Souls #3) by Deborah Harkness | physical – Well, like I mentioned already, I had planned to read this in February, but I waited far too long and ran out of time. But it’s definitely one that I want to get through because it’s the original conclusion to the series and I’m basically on the edge of my seat!

Now That I’ve Found You by Kristina Forest | audiobook – One of my favorite authors ever recommended this book super highly a few months back. As soon as I saw that, I added it to my reading list. However, it only just became available as an audiobook from Hoopla. So catch me checking it out ASAP!

Divergent by Veronica Roth

The Inheritance Games (The Inheritance Games #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes | physical – Well, friends, this one has been recommended over and over again and I just absolutely have to read it. It’s one of the books on my primary TBR for the entire year (in fact, that’s the case for a lot of the books on this month’s list) and I just can’t wait to see what the hype is about!

Call Down the Hawk (The Dreamer Trilogy #1) by Maggie Stiefvater | physical – I read all of The Raven Cycle last year and found myself utterly fascinated with Ronan and the other Raven Boys. I know that the last book in this trilogy is coming out this year and I so, in order to understand the hype (and possibly read the newest when it is published), I wanted to dive in as soon as I could!

Divergent (Divergent #1) by Veronica Roth | physical – I’ve been meaning to do a reread of this series for far too long. The last time I actually picked up these books was right after I graduated high school. When a bookstagram friend of mine said she was also interested in rereading them, we decided to do a buddy-read together! It’ll be fun to revisit this nostalgic series.

This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity #1) by V.E. Schwab | physical – I’ve been making my way through all of Schwab’s books, ever since I read the Shades of Magic trilogy a couple of years back. Now that I’ve read nearly everything she’s written – aside from her graphic novels – I’m starting to better understand her progression as an author and I appreciate her writing even more. I’m very excited to get into this duology.

Gilded (Gilded #1) by Marissa Meyer | physical – This book has been very high up on my TBR since way before it was released. However, I was never able to get my hands on it at the library. When I went to my local spot a few weeks back and saw it on the shelf, I immediately grabbed it to read as soon as I possibly could! I’m a huge fan of Meyer’s books and truly can’t wait to dive into the beginning of this new series.

Pride by Ibi Zoboi | audiobook – This book has been on my list for far too long, honestly. I recently realized it was available as an audiobook from Libby – and as a major plus, Elizabeth Acevedo is the narrator. She’s one of my favorite authors and she always does a phenomenal job with the narration, so I just already know that I’m going to love this one.

Crush (Crave #2) by Tracy Wolff | physical – When I tell y’all that I’m newly obsessed with this series, I’m not joking. I haven’t been this excited about a book series since… well… since I read Shades of Magic and Renegades a few years back. I had such an innate urge to just drop every single title on my TBR and binge the series all at once. But, I’m trying to be patient with them and not throw myself into the biggest series hangover ever upon finishing them. These are so nostalgic for me (despite having been published throughout the past 2 years). They read like 2010’s YA paranormal romance and, well, be still, my Twilight-loving heart. I just can’t get enough!

When Night Breaks (Kingdom of Cards #2) by Janella Angeles | ebook – Since I always try to progress in the series I’m reading from month to month, I’m picking up the sequel to Where Dreams Descend this month, since I read the first in February. I’m excited to be buddy-reading this one with the person who recommend the first book to me originally!

The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials #1) by Philip Pullman | audiobook – One of my closest friends suggested this to me a long while ago, stating that it has a lot of similarities to my favorite fantasies. I’ve been hearing about the series for years now, but just never picked it up. Why not begin now?

Okay, first off, your pictures are absolutely gorgeous! Aesthetic goals ❤
Secondly, I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Call Down the Hawk! I loved the Raven Cycle series and I’ve heard such different opinions from people who loved the first series that have made me hesitate to pick it up (though I added it to my amazon cart countless times last year).

The mix of books like Divergent with many newer, ongoing series makes this March list a fun one! Echo North is on my list too, so I will be curious to read a review, if you post one. 🙂

Yes! I primarily read physical books and only just got a Kindle for my birthday. I do love audiobooks too and I’m not against any format (anymore, I used to be a “purist” haha) but physical books will always be my favorite.

I already have my first review and my reread review of Echo North on my StoryGraph 🙂 This will be my third time reading it as I’m the host for the group read.

I tend not to stray very far from my comfort zone of fantasy and fluffy romance, but I recently read WE’LL PRESCRIBE YOU A CAT, a translated novel about a magical mental health clinic that loans out cats to their patients. 🐈 It was absolutely fantastic in every way and became my first 5-star read of the year (outside of my rereads). 🙌🏼

Magical realism has always been a favorite genre of mine, but I usually struggle a lot with translated books. 😅 It was such a treat to immerse myself in this story and I can’t wait to read the sequel soon! 📖
