15 Novels I Hope to Pick Up in June 2022

In this post, I’m sharing all the books I hope to read in June 2022 – and this time, I had a little help with the list!

This monthly TBR is extra special because my husband actually helped me pick out seven of the books! I’ve wanted him to choose my reading list for a while now, so it was really fun to have his input on which titles I should pick up in June. I put together a selection of fifteen books with queer rep for Pride Month and he scrolled through and selected based on the titles and covers alone! In addition to those books, I added in a few of the ARCs I need to read and review, along with some sequels and buddy-reads.

May was a bit of a tricky reading month, I’ll be honest. I wound up DNFing several books (something I’ve never really done before) and then I found myself dealing with the closest thing to a slump that I’ve ever had. This was brought on by the truly awful combination of a week filled with pet emergencies and the fact that I unknowingly chose to read the longest book I’ve ever picked up during that terrible week. It was a recipe for disaster, that’s for sure. So, while I still hit my numerical goal for the month, I only read nine of the fifteen titles I put on my original list. Oh well! Here’s hoping this month’s TBR goes a little more according to plan.

Allegiant (Divergent #3)

Continuing my reread and buddy-read of the Divergent series this month. Since I’ve already read these books, I have to say I’m not entirely looking forward to this one – if you know, you know.

Redemptor (Raybearer #2)

by Jordan Ifueko

I listened to the audiobook for Raybearer in May and while I enjoyed it, I much preferred physically reading the end of it. I’m wrapping up the duology by reading the ebook and hoping I can comprehend it a bit better!

The Never Tilting World (The Never Tilting World #1)

This book has been on my TBR for… ages? It was one of the titles that my husband randomly selected for me to read this month and I honestly can’t wait. I had forgotten it was even on my list, so this was just the nudge I needed to pick it up.

The Steel of Sapience (The Sovereign Blades #1)

Trinity was kind enough to send me a copy of his debut novel and I’m looking forward to giving it a go. One thing I know for sure is that the cover is spectacular!

Wild is the Witch

by Rachel Griffin

You all can’t even imagine my excitement when NetGalley approved me for an ARC of this book. It’s one of my most anticipated releases of the year and I’ve already preordered a signed copy! I just know I’m going to adore every second of it.

Written in the Stars (Written in the Stars #1)

by Alexandria Bellefleur

I’ve seen this series a few times on social media and it has always stood out to me. I love queer romcoms so much and this first book instantly caught my attention because it has one of my favorite tropes: fake dating!

The True Love Bookshop (Somerset Lake #3)

I really enjoyed the first two books in the Somerset Lake series and was honored when Forever sent me an advanced copy of the third installment. I’m positive it’ll be the perfect, sweet start to my summer reading.

The Bone Houses

This was the “12 books recommend by 12 friends” pick for June and honestly, I’m looking forward to this more than nearly every other book that’s been suggested so far. According to the person who recommended it (who happens to have the same chronic illness that I do), there’s apparently phenomenal chronic illness rep, which is something I’m always looking for as a spoonie.

A Psalm for the Wild Built (Monk & Robot #1)

My brother-in-law actually suggested this book to me! I added it to my TBR and then began to see it on booktok, which just fueled my desire to read it. I don’t read a ton of sci-fi/dystopian fiction so I’m interested in finding out if this one suits me.

Book Lovers

UMM only my most anticipated book of the year like no big deal. While I recognize that everyone and their mom has already read this, my pre-ordered copy came late due to shipping delays, so I’m just getting to this one. But goodness – I’m so excited I could pee my pants.

The Charm Offensive

by Alison Cochrun

Another book that’s been on my TBR for a while! This one was a random pick by my husband and I just have this inkling that I’m going to really enjoy it. I don’t like watching reality TV, but I love reading about it, so the plot for this sounds right up my alley.

Blood Like Magic (Blood Like Magic #1)

Originally, I planned to read this during October of 2021 for Halloween, but my libraries (yes, I have 5 library cards) didn’t have it available! I guess that’s a good sign because it was clearly too hot to hold! It might not be “the right season” but I think it’ll still be a great witchy read.

The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #2)

I know, I know, I’m seventeen years late to the PJO party. Oops. I just missed these entirely in middle school, for some reason. But I sure am happy to be reading them now – especially with the Disney+ adaptation on the way.

Malice (Malice Duology #1)

A sapphic fairy tale where the villain falls for the princess? Sign me up. I heard raves about this one on social media when it came out in 2021. I truly hope it lives up to all the hype!

Black Sun (Between Earth and Sky #1)

This is one of those books that I feel is totally underrated and yet, I’ve had it recommended to me personally multiple times. Clearly, it’s a sign. The sequel was just released, which makes it really easy for me to just jump from one to the next if it ends on a cliffhanger or I just can’t get enough!
