Have you been longing to add an extra dose of cozy to your home?
There’s never been a better time to create your dream living space. Ever since 2020, we’ve begun spending far more time indoors. I feel as though we’re all craving that extra level of comfort. For several years, I worked to transform my townhouse into the ultimate cozy environment, and not long after I completed that project, I purchased my first house and moved into my dream cottage in the country. I’ve experienced so much joy bringing that same coziness into this space and I can truly say that this house feels like home.
I’m constantly looking for new ways to bring cozy vibes into every corner of my house. Something that I longed for in my old space was a true library and I’ve begun to really make that dream come true, with a full wall of bookshelves and a sweet little reading nook. In fact, I’ve even created reading nooks in more than one room because they make me so happy! Keep on reading to see how I’ve incorporated that coziness into each nook (and cranny) in this country cottage.

10 Items to Buy Right Now for the Ultimate Cozy Home
I’ve worked my hardest to create the coziest of all living spaces. These are the products I make sure to have in nearly every room of my house.
area rugs
Whether you’re willing to invest in a restored vintage rug, or you’re looking for something that’s slightly more budget-friendly, there are tons of fantastic rug options that are sure to cozy up your home! A rug can completely transform a space.
armchairs
I have three nearly identical armchairs throughout my home. One in the living room, one in my bedroom, and one in my library. These chairs are where I spend nearly every moment of my free time – whether I’m curled up to read, work on social media, or watch a show!
baskets
You can use baskets for so many different purposes. Put a potted plant inside, stuff pillows in them, or keep knick-knacks out of the way. Baskets are incredibly useful and they make great decor! There are so many kinds of baskets to choose from as well, from storage to decorative.
candles
What better way to set a cozy mood than by lighting a sweet-smelling candle? I typically reach for baked goods scents or even spicy ones (like cinnamon). I’m allergic to soy, so I typically stick with coconut wax from my favorite company, but I’ve also got a couple of classic Yankee Candle paraffin wax candles too.
coffee
No cozy space is complete without a steaming hot cuppa. I know there are plenty of people who prefer tea, or would rather just have a glass of water, but I’m a coffeeholic, and can’t imagine settling in without my mug of joe.
diffusers
Not into candles? That’s okay – diffusers are an excellent option, and they promote excellent health! I diffuse thieves and orange for a fabulous mulled cider scent, or you can burn a few drops of lavender and lemon for something bright, yet calming!
fake plants
I specifically say fake plants because not all of us have a green thumb. I have what you would call a “black thumb,” and kill every plant I touch. Yes, even the “un-killable” ones like succulents and cacti. Therefore, I recommend faux plants to add a dose of green without all the extra effort. Plus, they’re safer for pets!
lights and tech
The right lighting makes a massive difference in any space. I can’t stand overhead lights, so I always make sure to have a warm lamp nearby or some cozy twinkle lights to add ambiance. In addition, I enjoy jazz or lo-fi music to relax, and I typically utilize my Google Home for all of that. It’s also great to have on hand if you want to ask about the weather or find out the definition of a word in your current novel.
pillows
Not only do pillows make things more comfortable, but they can create a statement as well. Whether that statement is “don’t squish me” or “read this witty phrase,” it doesn’t matter! Have fun with them and let them reflect your personality.
throw blankets
I can’t imagine snuggling up in my armchair without my weighted blanket or chenille throw. They instantly make any place a little cozier, and they keep you warm too. It’s the best of both worlds.
How adorable! The space looks beautiful and so comfy. You created the perfect cozy reading nook.

The coziest part of my home is the couch next to my bed where I’ve got a wedge pillow and another regular pillow kept together. It allows me to sit sideways and curl up on the couch with a book. The only thing missing is a side table or something to keep coffee or a candle on but otherwise, it’s perfect. And you saying candles reminds me, I stopped using my candles and I should get them lit again!
Absolutely! I agree with all of these things. I have baskets all over my house for literally everything. And pretty much every room has at least one throw blanket in it.
