I have an endless number of favorite books and the list just keeps growing. I’m so looking forward to the titles I’ve chosen to reread in 2021.
I’ll admit that I haven’t done a ton of rereading in the past. Mostly, I would reread books in high school because I wasn’t often introduced to new releases – unless I sought them out at Barnes & Noble. Now, with a million reviews and resources at my fingertips, I’m able to constantly add to my TBR (to be read) list and I discover new releases on a monthly basis. Last year, I only read books I had never read before. This year, I want to revisit some old favorites!
I found myself saying, “I need to read that again,” on a regular basis, so rather than just stating that, I’m going to take action and begin rereading some of the books I loved when I was younger and the ones that impacted me the most in the past couple of years!

15 Books I Loved Enough to Reread in 2021
Some of these I’ve already completed (like Into the Heartless Wood, which I read in January) or I’ve already begun (I’m two books into the Wicked Lovely series), so I marked those with asterisks. You can click on each book photo to be led to the corresponding synopsis. Tap on the book title to see why I’m rereading the book. I’ve also included links to purchase these for yourself! Make sure to follow me on Goodreads to read my reviews and bookstagram to see my aesthetic photos of these titles and more.
Early Departures by Justin A. Reynolds
I’m hoping to listen to the audiobook this time around since I read the physical copy last time. I was really excited to find out that the narrator was A.J. Beckles, who I interviewed after listening to A Song of Wraiths and Ruin last summer. I definitely consider this one of my favorite books so I can’t wait to dive in again.

Into the Heartless Wood by Joanna Ruth Meyer*
I reread this in January, in honor of the actual release of the book! The first time I read it was when I won an ARC in August of 2020. It was somehow better the second time around, which I didn’t think was possible. This is my favorite book of all time!

You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson
The audiobook for this was absolutely precious and I loved every minute of it. I purchased the physical copy for myself a couple of months back and I can’t wait to enjoy the story in a different format. I think there are even full text conversations and things that I missed out on with the audio, so it’ll be fun to compare and contrast.

The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary
This book was what reignited my love for contemporary romance. I listened to the audiobook two years ago now and I’ll never forget the experience. I can’t wait to read it and laugh over Tiffy and Leon’s awkward and adorable story again.

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman
I’ve never met a character so much like myself. It’s as though Abbi Waxman met me and then styled Nina after my personality. She’s anxious, bookish, and has full conversations with her cat. This story is like a big hug for me. Definitely a comfort book.

Paper Towns by John Green
When I was in high school, Paper Towns was my go-to reread. I’ve probably read it a dozen times or more (though my copy is still in tiptop shape, somehow). However, it’s been years since I’ve picked it up, so I just know it’s going to be a nostalgic read!

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr*
This is another series that I’ve read several times before and it’s one of my favorites! It was so fun to introduce my online friends to the story when I hosted a virtual book club for the first novel in February. It’s been quite the journey down memory lane going through them again!

Renegades by Marissa Meyer
I only picked this trilogy up last year, but I flew through all three giant books in a week. I just couldn’t get enough. When a friend of mine mentioned she wanted to begin reading them, it just felt like a great excuse for me to do a reread!

Caraval by Stephanie Garber
I feel lucky that I read these books as they were coming out, because I got to them before all the hype. Now that it’s been a few years since they were all released, I think it’ll be fun to read them again and see if I still feel as over-the-moon about them as I did the first time around.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
Gosh, I read these before audiobooks were even a thing. What I mean to say is that I actually borrowed audio CDs from my local library to listen to this series on a road trip that I took by myself not long after high school. That just floors me! My mom got me the gorgeous box set for my birthday and I’m really excited to read them again.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
This trilogy was what introduced me to audiobooks! I got my first Audible trial membership just to listen to them and flew through them all super quickly a few summers back. I had already seen the movie (without the knowledge that they were books) and remember thinking, “wow, these books are so much better!” It’ll be fun to read them in a physical format this year.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
Not long after listening to Crazy Rich Asians, I listened to this series and adored every moment of it. Again, this was after watching the first movie. (Side note: I do think the movies are some of the best book-to-movie adaptations I’ve seen). My friend got me the box set recently and not only can I not wait to read them, but WOW they are some of the prettiest books!

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
Talk about a throwback. Truly, I don’t remember the exact age I was when I first read LoTR. I think I was in middle school? I remember liking them, but I’ve seen the movies so many times and realized I needed a refresher on the books.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver
I read these at the same time as The Hunger Games and Divergent, when dystopian fiction was all the rage for high schoolers. I owned the first two books for years, but just a couple of months ago, I finally purchased the third and final installment, which prompted me to add them to my rereads. I barely remember the plot!

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
When these books came out, they were huge and I couldn’t get a copy at the library to save my life (and if you know me, you know I don’t buy books unless I’ve read them already. That’s always been the case), so I took to Facebook to ask if anyone in my area had a copy I could borrow. One of my extended family members – in another state – said she’d send her copy my way and I could send it back. But rather than sending me her copy, she bought me the box set as a high school graduation present. They’re still some of my most cherished books! After doing a rewatch of the movies last year, I found myself dying to read the novels again. This will be helpful considering I’d also like to pick up A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Oooh! I also get so many good book recs from you!! I think one of the books I’m reading now, “The Vanishing Half” was a recommendation I was on your IG a while back. I’ll have to add a couple more of these to my must-read list. You’re gonna make me wanna reread “Paper Towns” and “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” too haha!
So glad to see some I read and even more to add to my TBR! You should see me in a crown is up in my list, I heard so many good things about it but haven’t managed to pick it up yet as well as Crazy Rich Asians and To all the boys! LOTR was such a great series, I watched the movie first, but the book blew my mind! Thank you for sharing x
Delirium sounds like something I would love to read. They all looks exceptional. I wish I had the time to read as much as I like. I hope I’ll be able to catch up during summer.
I do enjoy rereading but it is more for going back to a comfort book which will make me happy without occupying a lot of my time, since I know what’s going to happen. While I used to reread a lot until a couple years back, it has reduced recently and I just read parts of favourite books for comfort.
The Hunger Games is my most reread book actually! I’ve read it over 30 times and have multiple pages memorized haha.
Hope you’re able to get to all of these books this year!
These look like great books. I was always interested in reading the Hunger games, Crazy Rich Asians, and Paper towns.
This is such a great idea. I can never get back into a book once I’ve read it once so I tend to sell them on afterwards.
Love rereading books! I’ve reread A Walk to Remember and Me before You a billion times. I’ve heard excellent things about The Flatshare! I have yet to read this one. Also, I’d like to read Crazy Rich Asians but have only seen the movie! Thanks for sharing x

Gah so many good ones! This gives me a lot of ideas for books to re read!
So many great books! I don’t usually reread books but I love the flat share x
I definitely plant to reread The Flatshare this year too. Beth O’Leary’s writing has become such a comfort and I look back at her books with so much fondness that I’m desperate to dive in again! Great post.

The Flat Share was probably my favourite book from last year, it was such a lovely read! I will check out these other books also x

Sounds like a great list of books to read for sure! Thanks for sharing them all!
I totally want to read Crazy Rich Asians again – such a good series! I also really want to read To All the Boys I Loved Before. Need to get on that!!! You’re always reminding me to read more and what I need to read!

I just finished The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and I absolutely loved it. Even I want to read Renegades 🤩🤩🤩
The Lord of the Rings! Absolutely my favorite books all the time. I keep rewatching the movies as well because I and my dad love them sooo much x
I can barely find the time to read books the first time, let alone reread them! But you have some really good picks here. I loved Paper Towns (and anything by John Green) and would definitely read that again. Plus you have some here that I haven’t read once, but they sound really great, like The Flat Share.
I tend to re-read books fairly often, one of the reasons I started reading ebooks is, because my physical copies would start to fall apart from the amount of times I’d read them.
I enjoyed reading The Bookish Life of Nina Hill as part of a book club and the Wicked Lovely series has been an all time favorite. Melissa Matt’s recent release from that universe is on my tbr list
Oh my gosh, we are so totally on the same wavelength right now! I’m currently having a re-reading month because I loveee re-reading favourites and I’m currently working on a blog post about the books I’ve re-read more than once! I’m currently reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed which I think is even better the second time around. I’ve re-read Paper Towns, Looking for Alaska and The Fault in our Stars multiple times each. My most re-read book is The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson-Walker. I think I’ve re-read that about 6 times and I love it just as much every single time.
Excuse my language but your photos are effing gorgeous! I’m definitely following your bookstagram now x
