It might sound crazy, but I love the fact that my March 2024 reading wrap-up is so short (for me). Who is this “reads less than 12 books in a month” individual?
For the last several years, I’ve maintained an average of between 15-25 books per month, reading every single day without fail, and just generally being very intense about my reading habits and goals. However, this year, one of the things I wanted to work towards was actually reading less each month. Rather than push for numeric goals and the maximum number of pages or listening hours, I knew I wanted to focus on picking up books that really excited me and kept my interest as I read.
During the month of March, I definitely accomplished this. I didn’t force myself to pick up a book every day, breaking my two-year reading streak, only read books that really interested me (or at least that I was initially very interested in), and wound up not even finishing my initial TBR list. I never finished Of Curses and Kisses and didn’t even pick up Christa Comes Out of Her Shell. But you know what? That’s totally okay! I’m going into April with the same mentality and even decreasing my TBR–and I’m really pleased with that.
I’m really happy to share my ratings for the books that I did read during March. There are some really great titles for you to check out. My ARC of Funny Story definitely takes first place on my favorites list (possibly the best Emily Henry book yet? I guess you’ll find out when I share my review, which is coming soon). I loved the final installment in the Defy the Night trilogy, Destroy the Day. It was also so much fun finishing rereads for The Wolves of Mercy Falls, The Prison Healer, and The Falconer series. Keep on scrolling to see the rest!
