The first month of the year has come and gone and now I get to share with my January 2023 reading recap with all of you!
My goal for this month was to primarily focus on rereading my favorite books, which is exactly what I did! Aside from the unrated novels and Jade Legacy, everything else was a reread. I have to say, this is something I definitely want to do to start each year from now on. It was truly wonderful knowing that every single book I read to kick off the year was going to be a favorite. Revisiting books that mean so much to me was absolutely marvelous and reminded me why I love rereading (not that I really needed a reminder, since I reread all the time)!
Even though I initially started the month with only fifteen books on my January 2023 reading list, I wound up completing twenty books total. Three of these were manga and graphic novels and towards the end of the month, I added Beyond the Wand and Renegades to my list. It was such a great reading month!

You had such a great month Stephanie! I enjoyed several of these books including Beach Read and Daisy Jones (loved the audiobook- the narrator gave a Stevie Nicks vibe). Have a great February in books! As someone who loves stats, I appreciated your graphs and pie charts too!
I absolutely loved revisiting so many of my favorite stories. Daisy Jones is actually my all-time favorite audiobook. That full cast gets me every time. I can’t wait for the show to come out in March! 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement on this post. The stats are a new addition and I really like them as well. It’s fun to show off what my StoryGraph gives me!
You read some of my favorite books last month!! And you read a lot. Great wrap up
It was so much fun to reread so many favorites! I think that’s how I went through them all so quickly. Revisiting books I’m already familiar with is so comforting and makes reading even more special.
Whew! What a great recap you have there! I love seeing all of your favorites. Everyone seems to be in love with that Daisy Jones one, so I am happy to see it was such a win for you! I love your stats there! My best book was Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan
I love rereading my faves and yes, Daisy Jones is one of those. It’s my favorite audiobook of all time, so listening to it again – my first book of the year??? AH! It was wonderful. I can’t wait for the show in March 🙂
We’re glad that you enjoyed The Hunger Games. We haven’t read that series in many years. We can’t wait to read your review for Begin Again.
It was fun to reread it after so many years. I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed it considering the first time I picked it up was over 10 years ago haha
20 books, wow!! That’s an amazing reading month. I absolutely loved Addie LaRue when I read it the first time through. Starless Sea is one I’d like to get to, but haven’t yet. And Tom Felton’s memoir is also on my list…I’ll probably borrow that from my library. I’ve seen a couple of reviews for it, one middling and the other giving it high marks.
I think that rereading 14 books helped me move through them more quickly. It was so comforting to sit down with so many favorites again! If you do decide to read The Starless Sea, I highly recommend the audio vs the physical copy. I couldn’t get into Morgenstern’s books *at all* when I read them with my eyeballs… but the audios are phenomenal!
Is the audio one narrator or dramatized? I am…historically not super great with fictional audiobooks haha. Unless they’re dramatized or I’ve read the book previously.
It’s a full cast so it’s more like a dramatization! 🙂
Omg! 20 is a lot, that’s amazing. So many are on my TBR too, I think I’m gonna finally listen to the audiobook for Daisy Jones in February! I want to do a reread of Beach Read soon too
It is a lot! I wasn’t really expecting to read so many, but since 14 of them were rereads, it made it a lot easier to fly through 🙂 Enjoy Daisy Jones!!! It’s the best audiobook ever.
My friend has recommended to me Daisy Jones & The Six too, so I will be reserving that book at the library! I really enjoyed reading The Flatshare too. I didn’t have a very good reading month, and now I’m in a bit of a slump but hopefully February will be better x
The Flatshare and Daisy Jones are the books I’ve read and loved too. Interesting idea to start of the year reading only books you know you love 🙂
i love how you mainly reread your favourites this month! that’s such a good strategy to start the year on the right note. glad to hear that you made the most of the month to read great books!
