December 2023 Reading Wrap-Up

My December 2023 reading was festive and fun and filled with so many new and old favorites. It was an excellent way to end the year.

I had a jam-packed TBR for the month of December that included only festive books. It got rearranged a few times throughout the month as I DNF’d (did not finish) some of the books on the initial list. However, it was incredibly easy to add new books since there are so many incredible holiday books to choose from that I hadn’t gotten to read over the last few years. My Kindle was so full of incredible books that it was actually hard to narrow it down throughout the month.

Since I love rereading seasonal books, I found several titles that I can’t wait to pick up again next December, like The Christmas Swap and This Winter. I also thoroughly enjoyed rereading some of my favorites from the past several years. Picking up The Afterlife of Holly Chase and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe during the week of Christmas each year is something I greatly look forward to. It’s so comforting to revisit those worlds that I love so much. It makes the festive season that much more enjoyable.

For January, I’m planning to pretty much entirely stick with rereads of my favorite books. I did this at the beginning of 2023 and it made starting the year truly special. There’s something wonderful about knowing that I will love every book I pick up this month. My goals are changing a little bit for my reading in 2024 and so my TBR length is decreasing to accommodate. I want to focus as much as I can on loving each and every book I read, rather than just reading as much as I can. I think it’s going to be a very good reading year.
