While my April 2024 reading recap is probably the shortest I’ve had in over three years, I’m not complaining. I read some great books during this month!
I’m doing an excellent job of staying consistent with my “read less” goal for the year. Now, am I doing this entirely purposefully? Absolutely not, but I’m truly not upset about it at all. I’m reading books that make me really happy (and DNF-ing the ones that don’t) and finding lots more favorites! I’m also spending time reading the physical copies that have been sent to me from various publishers and I’ve discovered so many new authors that I really enjoy.
I got a bit chaotic with my April reading and not only DNF’d two books on my initial TBR, but moved a third one to May. I read a few of the others I had originally planned to pick up, but for the most part, I went totally off-list. I’m really thankful for that spontaneity because, without it, I wouldn’t have found my current favorite fantasy book, Where the Dark Stands Still, which was a random choice!
The two books that I chose to put down were The Other Side of Disappearing and Raiders of the Lost Heart and I moved Eragon to May so I could buddy-read it with a friend throughout the month! Keep on scrolling to see what I thought about the 8 books that I did enjoy reading in April.
