The Reinvented Boyfriend Cardigan

I’m a sucker for a good cardigan.  In middle and high school, I would refuse to let my mom buy long-sleeve tops for me, and only wore t-shirts beneath cardigans.  I was just more comfortable that way.  I’ve learned the beauty of a quality sweater now, but I still reach for cardigans on a regular basis.  There’s a gray one in my closet that I’ve had for a couple years now, and it’s still on repeat because it’s just that dang cozy!  When Chicwish sent over this darling boyfriend cardigan, I instantly swooned.  Not just because the oversized fit is as comfy as it gets, but because the color couldn’t be more lovely!  I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again – just because we’re heading into winter, doesn’t mean we need to give up color!

Blush tones and light lilac shades are still my most reached-for, and fill my closet rack to max capacity.  That being said, I have plenty of summer items that could easily be worn given the right layering materials.  In waltzes this cardigan, and I’m 100% set!  I purchased this donut tee for myself at the beginning of summer, but certainly didn’t want to say goodbye once the weather cooled down.  So the other day, I grabbed my boyfriend cardigan and a comfy pair of sneakers, and shimmied out the door.  This ensemble is as comfortable as it gets, but it’s also totally cute!

One of the things I love most about cardigans is their ability to spruce up an outfit with little-to-no effort.  Wearing jeans and a t-shirt?  Add a cardigan and it’s instantly more interesting.  Got a dress that’s slightly too short or isn’t warm enough for the season?  A boyfriend cardigan with a skinny belt will save your skin from turning into ice!  Cardigans are the lazy-gal solution, and I’m all about it!  The one I’m wearing is $62 and worth every penny.  It’s high-quality, and incredibly thick (like, you could nearly trade out your coat for this cardi).  The color is also something that works against every skin tone!

    I have a few boyfriend cardigans and I feel like they’re a little hard to style since they are so loose and give no shape. I love the way you styled yours. Very casual but super cute. I would so wear this to the movies 🙂
