Alright, I’m about to get real honest. It was not coat weather in the slightest the day that this outfit was photographed.
In fact, Richmond has been hovering around the high 80’s recently, so needless to say, the second we wrapped this shoot, I peeled every layer from my skin and immediately purchased a cold beverage to cool me down. I’m pretty sure I had begun to hallucinate because I was seeing popsicles and pool floaties in the corner of my eyes – in other words, it was way too hot! 😂
However, as a blogger, it’s my responsibility to prepare my lovely readers (that’s you) for whatever the season will bring. With autumn in full swing (in some states), I know I need to cater to you guys just as much as to the folks in RVA who are sweating their booties off! I’m well aware that the cold weather will hit us out of nowhere, and I certainly want to be prepared.

In past years, I’ve only owned one or two coats at the most, and totally regretted it.
I had one trench in black, and one in camel, and constantly wished that I had a better selection. When the cold weather strikes, it’s a downer that your outfit is either totally covered up, or you have to freeze to death in order to show it off. To make your lives easier, I’ve searched for the best coats around, and found them on the Chicwish website. These gorgeous outwear pieces can become your outfit, so there’s no regret over what you choose to wear.
Before the weather gets too chilly, most of these coats can be worn as cute layering pieces, unbuttoned. That’s how I chose to style mine for this ensemble! A pink trench coat is always a good idea, or so I’ve recently been made aware. Mine has a thin, suede-like material that’s warm, but not sweltering. Wear it unbuttoned, or button up and use the belt to give yourself an hourglass silhouette that’s not commonly associated with coats.
Below, you can find 10 coats from Chicwish that are under $75 and totally worth grabbing for the cold-weather seasons!
