The title of this post pretty much says it all. You need this dress. Whether it’s for yourself, for your best friend, your daughter, your girlfriend, or whomever – you need it! My blog has been filled with the prettiest of all the party dresses lately. From my Thanksgiving outfit, to my red hot gown, to this sequined number, I’m all about those party looks right now! I guess the holiday spirit is getting to me, because all I want to do is dance around in sparkly things and listen to Christmas music! Anyone else with me?
The second I saw this dress on the Dezzal website, I knew I had to have it. There’s just something about a dress with sheer overlay and lace that really gets me! This dress looks all levels of sexy, while simultaneously quite comfortable and not truly revealing at all. There’s a nude slip beneath the black that makes it appear as though I’m showing off my skin, but in reality I get to stay all covered up, which makes it pleasant to wear, even on a colder evening. The sequins parade up and down the length of the dress, but they’re not so over-the-top that you feel like a walking disco ball. Lace covers the arms and gives just the right amount of elegance to this vampy piece.
Since the neckline is high, the sleeves are long, and the dress itself is quite detailed, I chose to go without accessories entirely – aside from small earrings (which were covered up by my hair). If you’re heading out into the bitter cold, I suggest a pair of thick, opaque black tights beneath the dress to ensure maximum warmth for your legs. I could absolutely see this dress being worn with a pair of killer red pumps or even crushed velvet, blush-toned booties. However, I reached for my favorite heels at the moment. I don’t kid when I say that I’ve worn these nearly every day for the past three weeks. They’re comfortable – major win, black – so they match everything in my closet, close-toed – which keeps me warm, and guys … they’re only $25! Never in my life have I had more compliments on a pair of shoes while just walking through Target or visiting my boyfriend at work. I can’t recommend them enough. They’re perfect to wear to a party, because you know your feet won’t feel like death at the end of the night. Out of the entire 20 (?) days I’ve worn them, only one day did my feet begin to get sore, and that was purely because I was walking for hours on end without rest.
In all, my party outfit was only $125, and for such a great price, I felt pretty fabulous. When I got home from shooting this dress, I didn’t even want to take it off. I very nearly wore this gorgeous piece just to binge-watch superhero shows on Netflix with B. How would you style it? I can think of so many possibilities!
