Gingham Don’t Go!

I want to start out this post by being super straightforward with you guys.  I never want to paint a picture of this perfect lifestyle that I lead, filled with rainbows, sunshine, and free stuff all the time.  In reality, I’m sitting at my desk, at 4:45 in the afternoon, sipping a “calming” tea, because my anxiety has been through the friggin’ roof lately.  Last year at this time, I truly focused on telling my life story along with sharing fashion posts, but this year, life has become rather overwhelming, and it’s been hard to find the strength to share it with you.  I’ve never wanted my blog to be a place where it’s just fashion and product-pushing and nothing else.  I’m a real human with a soul behind these photos, and you all deserve to know me and not just my fashion taste.  So from here on out, I’m going to do my best to go back to how things were – sharing my life through my style, and I want to thank you all for bearing with me when things get bumpy along the way!

Throughout the summer, I found myself constantly drifting back to this gingham skirt I received from Chicwish.  I got numerous compliments on Instagram, and each time I wore it, I felt comfortable and confident (which is always a good sign).  This skirt has a built-in pair of shorts – meaning it’s actually a skort.  It allows me to move freely without worrying about showing off my goods to the world.  I was bummed when it went out of stock on the website, but I’m thrilled to say they’ve brought it back, and while I’m not sure how long it will be available, I can say that each and every one of my gorgeous readers needs this skirt in their life!

There’s no need for gingham to go out of style once autumn arrives!  I found a practical way to style this skirt for the cooler weather by wearing a sweater* and booties, rather than a crop top and sandals like I did this summer.  I nearly wore my OTK boots, but they came up higher than the skirt, so next time I might just opt for tights to keep my upper-legs warmer.  *This black top is my last installment of the $13 H&M sweater series. 😂  I’ve styled my mustard one, the cobalt one, and now the black one, and I plan to recycle them for the rest of the cooler months.  They’re so practical, versatile, and affordable that I’m absolutely considering purchasing the other five colors.
