I’ve recently gotten into the habit of taking my photos while I’m out and about. I used to just schedule days where I shot a bunch of looks in a row, but this way, I feel like it’s more genuine. You’re seeing an outfit that I truly wore all afternoon and where I wore it! Don’t get me wrong, it’s still fun to have full days filled with shoots, especially with my blogger bestie, Stefanie, but that’s because we usually end the afternoon with Starbucks or macarons and we get to talker blogger life together (which my boyfriend doesn’t enjoy quite as much ????). This cozy look was worn on a date night with my man – or really, a date day! We took a stroll around our favorite place in RVA, Carytown, which is a street filled with tons of little boutiques, restaurants, and lots of great places to shoot! Right before we stopped to grab ramen for dinner, as the sun was going down, we shot my casual outfit.
As much fun as it is to dress up for a date night, I sometimes prefer to take the casual and cozy route and just spice it up to fit the atmosphere of wherever we go. Since I knew we’d spend a good portion of the late afternoon just walking around in the chilly weather, I made sure to sport a soft cardigan from SammyDress that would keep me warm but not make me feel suffocated. This Zaful scarf was an addition that I grabbed from the car once the sun began to set because it’s a very thick material – which was super cozy, but during the day felt a little heavy. I love the pretty blush tones combined with gray in this outfit. They make me feel feminine, which is something I prefer on date night. It’s the best feeling when I walk out of my bedroom and hear my boyfriend say “you look fantastic!”
Like most days, I had to wear my OTK boots. I get a lot of questions about this particular pair because of the unique lace-up back. Last year, on the day after Black Friday, I happened to find these on mega sale at Charlotte Russe. I believe they were originally around $50 and I got them for $20. They were the last pair in stock, and they just happened to be my size. It was miraculous. Sadly, they only had them for a limited time on the website last winter, and they didn’t bring them back this year. However, I did my best to find the cutest lace-up OTK boots around for you guys to shop (in several colors, and all under $150)!
Hopefully you all like my casual date night look as much as I loved wearing it. Because this outfit is so comfy, I know I’ll be wearing it all on repeat throughout the rest of the chilly months!
