I hope everyone who celebrates had a very Merry Christmas! I know I did! It was wonderful spending time with my family and close friends – exchanging gifts and eating delicious food. Rather than a feast for Christmas dinner, we did heavy hors d’oeuvres and lots of wine (there were plenty of Rudolph noses in the house that night 😂). I had originally planned on posting Wednesday, but after all the food and festivities, the last thing on my mind was talking about clothing – oops. So instead of some fancy NYE outfits, I’m sharing one of the most practical winter pieces possible: a wool coat.
Alright, so this coat is actually a wool blend, but you’d never know from the quality. The colors are vibrant and the material is thick and heavy, perfect for keeping you extra warm! The day we shot this outfit, it was in the 30’s outside and I had been freezing (get ready to see a slew of posts where my goosebumps are highly visible). However, the moment I buttoned this coat, the fact that my legs were bare was hardly an issue. This particular piece of outerwear is designed to wear with dresses, so the length hits around my knee. I’m 5’6″, so on someone a bit shorter it would probably be closer to calf length, but in my opinion, the longer the better when you’re wearing a dress during the winter!
I’ve mentioned it once, and I’m about to say it again: having a coat that doubles as the “outfit” itself is a really grand idea during these frigid months. When you’re in the habit of covering up your cute outfit, you may as well have some outerwear that still draws the eye in a positive way. Chicwish has become my #1 place to shop for winter-wear, and I suggest you take a look at my top sweaters, cardigans, and coats below! You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the prices for these high quality items and I can personally guarantee that you’ll get great use out of every single thing on my list (I own this coat and can attest to the fact that I get at least three compliments every single time I wear it – which is a lot)!
